farm + Grow -
The Event

Looking for community?

Wish you had a place to share ideas, ask questions and feel supported?

Maybe a place to have a little fun too?

Then this event is for you.

Join myself + 60 other modern-day farm chicks as we farm + grow together. This event will connect like-minded women and bring them clarity, courage and confidence to do their “thing” in agriculture. We will help each other find alignment with input and advice from fellow modern-day farm chicks.

We will also hear from a panel of women that will share their inspiring stories of finding their own place in agriculture.

Mastermind Dinner for Modern-Day Farm Chicks, hosted by Annaliese Wegner, Modern-Day Farm Chick.

January 20, 2024
La Crosse, Wisconsin

This event will be a great opportunity for women to kick start the new year and set their goals and intentions. It will be an afternoon of journaling and discussion centered around food, drinks and like-minded women in agriculture.

Join us to connect and serve one another.

meet Your Trailblazers

Our trailblazer panel will feature women who have recently made changes and stepped outside the box in order to better their lives and those within agriculture. The panel consists of:

Farm + Grow - The Event Trailblazer Panel Mary Faber

Mary Faber

Mary is a Virtual Bookkeeper who works exclusively with QuickBooks Online and serves Rural Entrepreneurs from coast to coast. In addition to providing Ongoing Bookkeeping Services to her clients, she also teaches others how to utilize QuickBooks Online for their business. In addition, she recently launched her online course, Bookkeeping Essentials for the Rural Entrepreneur.

On October 1, 2020; Mary walked away from her job as a Controller for a Agriculture Cooperative without a plan. After a few weeks of reflection, she stumbled across the Virtual Bookkeeper idea and put the fear of the unknown aside and hasn’t looked back.

Mary and her husband, Jesse and two kids, Ava (11) and Eli (9) reside on their farm in Pontiac, Illinois.
Farm + Grow - The Event Trailblazer Panel - Jacki Moegenburg

Jacki Moegenburg

Jacki is the farmers’ daughter, a mechanic’s wife and a mom to four kiddos. With a desire to bridge the gap from farm to table and get more kids on farms, Jacki started hosting summer farm camps.  Since 2014, Roden Barnyard Adventures has been committed to growing memories and harvesting fun for all ages.  Jacki finds great joy in sharing her agriculture knowledge and farming lifestyle with all ages directly through hrough farm camps, tours, birthday parties and other on-farm events.

In addition to running camps and events, Jacki feeds calves on the family’s farm. Although the morning chores sometimes take a little longer with little hands, raising the next generation of farmers (whether my own kids or campers) is worth the extra few minutes.
Farm + Grow - The Event - Trailblazer Panel - Kennedy Youngren

Kennedy Youngren

Kennedy Youngren, MS RDN LD is a dietician, farmer’s wife, first time mama, agvocate and more.

She grew up in a small farming town in central Minnesota, married a farm boy and has the sweetest little cow kid, Ada James.

Kennedy has a master degree in Exercise Science and Sports Nutrition, which helps her do her job daily – teaching our important people in agriculture how to fuel themselves like an athlete so they can fuel the world a little better, too.

Now she finds joy in helping you learn to fuel your body – increasing your energy, boosting immunity, improving your sleep and much more.

Valerie Miller - Trailblazer Panel - Steel Cow

Valerie Miller

Valerie Miller is a boy mom, artist and flower grower. She started her farm animal painting business, Steel Cow, 20 years ago.

After having her third son Valerie began experiencing post-partum panic attacks. She took a break from Steel Cow and turned her focus to finding herself – starting with growing flowers with her kids.

Since then, despite fires and other challenges she has faced, she has always ran to flowers to cope.

Now, Valerie’s putting her experiences into words to help farm moms discover the power of dreams, to not fear change, and when you need help – it can be found through learning something new, flowers and art.
